Rise 360
Audience: New Environmental Consultants conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
Problem: Phase I ESAs often overlook observable asbestos-containing materials (ACM) or incorrectly identify non-ACM as suspect ACM, resulting in unnecessary follow-up costs.
Solution: Developed a Rise 360 module that teaches environmental consultants how to accurately identify and document suspect ACM during Phase I ESAs.
Highlights: Logical content chunking, real-world application, knowledge checks.
Process: Analyzed the performance gap and determined that new environmental consultants needed a structured approach for evaluating potential ACM during Phase I ESAs. Rather than relying on memorization, consultants must synthesize information about material types, construction dates, and renovation history to make accurate field observations. To support this process, I designed a Rise 360 module that combines authentic examples, guided practice, and knowledge checks to help learners build confidence in identifying and documenting suspect ACM.
Evaluation:
Level 2: Learning is measured through embedded knowledge checks and a final assessment requiring a minimum score of 80%, demonstrating learners' ability to accurately identify suspect ACM.
Level 3: Three months after training, workplace performance would be evaluated by comparing the frequency of false identification of non-ACM as suspect ACM and missed identification of suspect ACM before and after training.

Storyline 360
Audience: All new employees as part of onboarding.
Problem: Only 30% of simulated phishing emails sent by IT department are reported as suspected phishing. The IT department has a 95% reporting goal to reduce the risk of a successful phishing attack.
Solution: Designed a scenario-based Storyline module that teaches new employees how to recognize, evaluate, and report phishing attempts during onboarding.
Highlights: Scenario based, logical content chunking, real-world application, knowledge checks.
Process: Analyzed the phishing email reporting performance gap and identified that employees needed opportunities to practice evaluating and reporting realistic phishing emails. Because recognizing phishing emails requires judgment rather than memorization, I designed a scenario-based learning module that allowed learners to make decisions, receive immediate feedback, and build confidence in a risk-free environment. I documented the design in a storyboard before developing the module and created a companion job aid to reinforce key concepts and support learners at the point of need.
Evaluation:
Level 2: Learning is measured through embedded knowledge checks and a final assessment requiring a minimum score of 75%, demonstrating learners' ability to accurately identify and evaluate suspected phishing emails.
Level 3: Three months after training, workplace performance would be evaluated by comparing the percentage of simulated phishing emails correctly reported before and after training to assess progress toward the organization's 95% reporting goal.
